Rebecca Martin

Loss of identity, Depression

Becky spent 50+ years as a professional peacemaker, people-pleaser, and “good girl”. What looked shiny on the outside was deeply painful and collapsing inside as she navigated difficulties that left her feeling alone and broken. Those years came at a deep cost, twisted her identity and took her down some dusty roads. But the God who loves to rescue and rewrite stories said, “We aren’t done yet.” One of her new favorite words is “and” — the invitation to simultaneously hold the hard and the beautiful, the challenges and the joys. She has accepted an incredible trade from the Father — replacing the compulsion to wrap pain in ribbons of denial, with the peace of being fully known and fully loved. She loves stories of redemption and rescue, authenticity and desperate dependence on the Savior.

Becky is a certified life coach and trauma recovery coach. Her top strengths on the Clifton Strengths Finder are empathy, connecting ideas, and recognizing and cultivating the potential in others. She will never stop talking of gritty hope and the beauty possible on the far side of what feels like the end of our stories.
