Things I pray for everyday as a Leader . . .
Compassion – My calling is to see people who don’t know Jesus come to know him personally. It’s hard not to get caught up in my own daily routines, family responsibilities, and the grind of life. When that happens I lose focus on people that need to see Jesus. I ask Him everyday for the compassion that He displayed for people and that he would show me ways in which I can meet their needs. (Matt. 9:27)
Clarity – I ask Jesus for His vision for this ministry. I don’t want to get in the way of people coming to Jesus by pushing my own agenda. He has a plan for the high school and middle school students in Greenville that is bigger than mine, bigger than yours, and bigger than any of us have ever imagined. Only Jesus can make things clear to me and He’s entrusted me to make things clear to other people. (Matt. 5:19-20)
Creativity – I’m a communicator. But as a communicator I often get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing the same way, over and over again. For this reason I ask that God would help me to communicate in ways that will build bridges with people’s understanding of Jesus and the Bible. (Matt. 13:19, 34)
Cooperation – Greenville students are going to be reached through volunteer leaders (e.g. small group leaders, greeters, production teams, worship teams, AWAKE baristas, etc.). There are way too many students that Jesus wants to touch in Greenville for me to do it alone. I pray for empowered leaders to be placed around me. I pray for a team like this world has never seen, throngs of people being sent out all over Greenville to have a huge IMPACT in the lives of students all over the county. (Matt. 10:1)
