At Nothing is Wasted Ministries,
We connect ministry leaders like you with the tools and resources you need to meet people in the valleys of their pain–from trauma, tragedy or major life transition– and help them find a way through. We also coach and guide leaders in their own journeys through personal crisis and leadership challenges.
Pain often gets people stuck and keeps them from engaging in mission, sidelined and ill-effective. Through our content, community, and coaching, we have everything you need to experience healing and hope for yourself and for those you lead. We’ll help you as you help people connect to their redemptive purpose to advance the kingdom of God.
That only happens when leaders like you recognize the impact of pain and the need for healing for those you serve. It’s difficult to find resources and tools that are both Biblically-Centered and Trauma-Informed … ones that truly facilitate deeper healing and transformation for your community. And that is where we can help.
Pain to Purpose is our flagship resource. This Biblically-Centered and Trauma-Informed video course is a proven pathway to help the people you serve remove the debris of crisis, repair brokenness, and rebuild their lives so that they can move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and mission.
The Trauma Informed Leader Toolkit is a 4-part video series to help you and your team begin the conversation of how trauma is impacting your community. This video series will equip you with what you need to know about the way trauma works in individuals, and how you can start to create environments for healing.

What’s Included?
-
In Session 1, meet Davey Blackburn, former church planting pastor and founder of Nothing is Wasted Ministries, who will introduce you to his own personal story of tragedy and how that transformed his understanding of what pastors and ministry leaders need to know in this conversation on trauma and why it matters so much.
-
In Session 2, we answer the question: what is trauma? With so many using the word to describe difficulties and challenges, it can be confusing, especially as leaders, to know what truly makes an event in someone’s life a trauma. This video will help you understand how trauma is defined and how to recognize its impact in the lives of those you serve.
-
In Session 3, we look at what your church or ministry can do in order to create the kind of environments hurting people can enter into in order to heal. Simple practices and shifts in how you operate can help to make a space for the hurting to come and find the hope of Jesus that they need to move through whatever they are facing.
-
In Session 4, we explore the past tension between psychology and neuroscience within Christian communities and how the science in regards to the brain and trauma often highlights what Scripture has already told us about suffering and healing. This session will help you form a vision for how your ministry can use both a Biblically centered and trauma-informed approach to God-given healing in people’s pain.

With so many stories of leaders who have quit due to burnout or have fallen because of moral or personal failure, the body of Christ needs leaders who will make it to the end–not perfectly, but faithfully.
Healthy Leaders Build Healing Communities is not just a motto we like to say here at Nothing is Wasted. It is something we have seen time and time again as we’ve entered churches, met with leaders, and helped people in crisis find a way through their pain.
Leaders need to know where they are in their journey in leadership and how to move into the next stage of development and growth so that they can lead and finish well. Let us help you do just that.
Our Healthy Leader Coaching is available for ministry leaders at three crucial junctures on their leadership journey:
-
Most leaders know when what they are doing or how they are doing it isn't sustainable. When the cracks start to show–either personally or professionally–it can be a warning sign that caution and course correction is needed in order to stay the course. Our coaches can help leaders who are starting to see the caution signs find a way back to a healthy, sustainable path so that you can lead and finish well in ministry.
-
Whether a personal loss or failure, a church in turmoil, or some other critical turning point, leaders who are facing a crisis need a guide to help and support them through their own personal healing as well as helping them lead in the midst of whatever crisis they are enduring. Our coaches know what it is like to face a crisis as a leader and can help you not only make an immediate plan to deal with what is most urgent but also a long term one when it is difficult to know what to do next.
-
Not all points along the leadership journey are moments of difficulty and hardship. Sometimes a leader finds themselves positioned to move into their most focused, fruitful, and fulfilling season when their formation, unique passions, gifts and personality as well as life and leadership experiences all converge. Leaders need to know how to boldly step into new phases in their leadership journey and recognize the next steps they need to take in leading well.
Wherever you are on the path of leadership, know that we can help you stay the course and finish well.
